Dear CPU Scorekeeper

It's impossible that the Celeron-500 is slower than a K6-III 400 if you consider that its FPU is similar to that of a Pentium III. In reality, the Celeron-500 should whip the K6-III 400's ass when it comes to high end applications...

You are correct in stating that the Celeron-500 performs FPU functions faster than the K6-III 400. However, the CPU Scorecard score is based on more than FPU performance. Visit our Benchmarks Links page for more details on the references we use to determine our CPU rankings.

If you would like to provide us with additional published references (web sites, preferably) that include business, high-end, floating-point, and multimedia performance comparisons between the two, we will certainly incorporate that information into our ranking.
